With more than 17 years of experience in the reinsurance industry, Mr Tatenda M. is an insurance specialist, entrepreneur, and Managing Director of an established insurance broking firm in Africa.

What is your strategic direction, and how do you envision the future of your business?
As an entrepreneur operating in the reinsurance broking sector, my strategic objective has always been to expand across the broader reinsurance value chain.
Establishing an Insurance Manager business was a natural first step in that growth journey. Over time, we aim to build a portfolio of businesses that can support our insurance clients across several areas, including broking, underwriting management, and reinsurance underwriting.
What made Mauritius the right jurisdiction for your insurance structure?
Mauritius has clear and well-established regulatory processes for different types of financial services businesses. This provides investors with greater certainty and makes the process easier to navigate.
The jurisdiction also offers a favourable tax environment and a clear framework for the movement of funds across regions. These factors made Mauritius an attractive location for our structure.
I would certainly encourage other insurance professionals and entrepreneurs considering similar ventures to explore what Mauritius has to offer.
