Global Financial Centres Index (35): Mauritius positions itself in the 61st position worldwide

The Financial Services Commission has announced in their latest Communiqué that Mauritius has improved its ranking in the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI) 35, strengthening Mauritius’ position as a leading destination for financial services.


Mauritius now positions itself in the 61st position worldwide and has gained 7 ranks, moving from the 68th spot in September 2023.


In addition to its overall ranking, Mauritius has seen a significant improvement in the GFCI 35 Fintech Index, where it is now positioned at 87th, moving from the 102nd spot. This index evaluates the fintech offerings of 116 centres worldwide.

This achievement reflects Mauritius’ ongoing efforts to improve its financial ecosystem and attract international investments, demonstrating the country’s commitment to cultivating a dynamic financial sector that is conducive to growth, innovation, and sustainability.

GFCI 35 provides evaluations of future competitiveness and rankings for 121 financial centres across the globe and serves as a valuable reference for policy and investment decision-makers.
